Deputy News, Class Newsletters & Overviews

Welcome back to all of our Families and Friends,

We hope the break brought some rest and time together, and that the children have returned feeling refreshed and ready for the term ahead. It has been wonderful to see students settle so quickly back into school life this week. We are looking forward to continuing our work together this term.

Thank you to our staff for the positive start they have created this week; they have really picked up where they left off in Term 3. Classrooms have quickly re-established calm, consistent and predictable routines, supporting students to feel secure and ready for learning. If Week 1 is the barometer, we really are in for a fabulous term.

STEM & Sustainability at Sacred Heart

We are thrilled to officially launch STEM as a new specialist subject at Sacred Heart. Our purpose built STEM room is now open, providing students with exciting opportunities to explore coding, engineering, design and problem-solving through hands on learning experiences. We have been incredibly fortunate to have Miss Allen take on this role. With her passion for science and expertise in nutrition, she brings a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm to our STEM program. We know our students are in excellent hands, and we truly have struck gold.

It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and curiosity the students have brought to their lessons. They have eagerly drawn on their existing knowledge while embracing new challenges and exploring how things work. We look forward to seeing their curiosity continue to grow as they investigate, create, experiment and discover in this inspiring new learning space throughout the year. We encourage you to read Miss Allen's first STEM newsletter and program overview below. It provides a wonderful insight into the exciting learning opportunities ahead and is well worth the read.
