The past fortnight has been a busy and rewarding time for our Senior School students, with a range of academic and extracurricular events taking place. From SAC assessments to exciting excursions and sporting achievements, our young men continue to challenge themselves and make the most of every opportunity.
This time of Term 1 is particularly demanding for VCE students, with multiple SACs and assessments scheduled throughout the past two weeks. These assessments provide students with their first formal indication of progress in each subject and serve as an important springboard for the rest of the year. While SAC marks are important, the feedback students receive is just as valuable. Engaging with this feedback will help them refine their understanding and improve future performance. Parents are encouraged to discuss results with their sons and support them through this crucial phase of their VCE journey.
We understand that students may need to be absent from school during SAC periods. If your son is unable to attend, please ensure he emails both his subject teacher and Ms. Abbey Panosh (VCE Coordinator) as soon as possible. If the absence is unforeseen, he should make contact as soon as he is well enough to do so. The VCE Coordinator will then arrange a time and place for him to complete the missed SAC.
Unit 3 & 4 General Math and English SACs are scheduled sporadically during Lesson 5 on a Wednesday. A list of these SACs are below.
When a General Math SAC is schedule, students who complete the following subjects do not need to attend and can be signed out via PAM if permission is given.

Students with parent consent to leave may sign out via PAM and return home for independent study. Those without consent will be required to attend the Year 12 Study Centre, where they will be supervised by a staff member. If granting permission for your son to leave, please follow the usual absence process via PAM or contact Student Services.
This week, students in the VCE-VM program had the opportunity to attend the Driving Learning Program at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix. This event provided an engaging platform for students to explore STEM learning in action, with hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, and career insights into the world of motorsport and engineering. Students gained a deeper appreciation of the technology behind F1 and the innovation that drives the sport forward.
