From the Desk of Kathy Nott - Term 3, Week 5
Good afternoon, Parents/Carers,
Book Week and Book Fair
This week we celebrate Book Week. This year's theme is "Symphony of Stories". To celebrate we will be holding a Book Week Parade this Friday, 21st August. All students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book character and parade with their class on the day. We invite all families and community to come along and see the costumes from 2:00pm on the middle terrace. Our Annual Book Fair is currently running this week and will finish this Friday, 21st August. Books can be purchased from 3:00pm to 3:30pm each day at the school library and after the Book Parade on Friday.
Quirindi High Year 5 Taster Day
Our year 5 students have been invited to participate in the Quirindi High School Year 5 Taster Day this Thursday, 20th August. Behaviour Focus
This week we are focusing on being Respectful:
We are learning to:
Work independently and be responsible for our own learning
We know we are successful when we:
Stay focused on your own work
Don't disturb the learning of others
Stay in your own lane
Listen to instructions the first time

Home reading is encouraged at Werris Creek Public School. Just 10 minutes per night can make a difference. To encourage our students to read at home, we offer some great incentives. See the image below with our incentive program. If you would like some tips on encouraging your child to read, please see their classroom teacher.

Attendance Matters
Congratulations to the 21 students who are part of our 100% Club. These students have attended school 100% of the time in Term 3.

We have 33 Students in total attending 90% or above. Keep up the good work as attendance matters.

If your child is to be absent from school for any reason, please ensure you contact the school office to advise or reply to the SMS message that is sent on the day of absence. It is important that we notify the department the reason your child is not attending school.
Kind regards
