Message from the Principal

Cecilia Parada

Dear families

I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to our wonderful school community for coming together to celebrate Public Education Week last week. Your enthusiasm and support truly made the event special for everyone involved. A special thank you goes to Mrs Rehman and Miss Luu for their outstanding organisation and dedication in bringing all the activities together.

P&C funded excursions

This week, our Year 1 and Year 2 students are going on an excursion to Centennial Parklands. Thanks to the generous support and donations from our Parents & Citizens (P&C), this immersive experience is made possible. We encourage all families to get involved with the P&C to help us sustain these enriching opportunities. Your participation and generosity ensure that all our students can benefit from memorable learning experiences. Excursions are also planned for all other grades throughout the term and year, all proudly funded by our P&C.

Upcoming Term 3 P&C meeting - Your voice matters

The next P&C meeting will be held next week, in the staffroom and online. We warmly invite all parents and carers to join us to discuss ongoing projects, share ideas, and collaborate on improving our school community. The link will be shared in next week’s newsletter.

Child Protection and filming guidelines

With rapidly advancing technology, it is essential that we maintain the highest standards to ensure the safety and privacy of our students. To address concerns related to privacy, health and safety (WHS), duty of care, and child protection, we remind our entire school community to exercise caution regarding the use of wearable technology such as Meta glasses, and the use of mobile phones while on school grounds. Please refrain from wearing such devices or filming students and staff without explicit permission. This helps us provide a safe and respectful environment for all children and staff.

Enrolment for 2027 – Join Meadowbank Minis

If you have a child starting school next year or know a family looking to enrol their child, Meadowbank is now accepting enrolment applications for 2027. Early enrolment allows children to join our popular weekly playgroup, Meadowbank Minis. This playgroup is an excellent opportunity for children to meet peers who will be starting Kindergarten alongside them, become familiar with our teachers, tour the school, and enjoy a smooth and confident transition into their first year of school. We encourage all families to enrol soon and help us welcome a new cohort to our school community.

Attendance on School Bytes – Thank you

Thank you to our parents who notify us of their child’s attendance through School Bytes. This system allows us to efficiently monitor attendance, reduces the workload for administrative staff by minimising the need to follow up on unexplained absences, and supports classroom teachers in managing and supporting student attendance effectively.
