Teamwork, Fun and Lots of Laughter!
What a wonderful week of fun and games for our 3/4S students! We have loved watching the students get outside, be active and enjoy spending time together.
One of the highlights was a fantastic game of soccer, where teamwork, cooperation and inclusiveness were at the heart of the game. It was wonderful to see students working together, encouraging one another and making sure everyone had a chance to join in.
The cheering and support from teammates was especially lovely to see, with students celebrating their peers and encouraging them to keep going. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and moments of pure joy!
It was fantastic to see our 3/4S students having fun, building friendships and showing such wonderful teamwork and sportsmanship!
Poetry in the Air!
Our 3/4S students have been having lots of fun getting creative with words as we dive into the wonderful world of poetry!
We have been exploring a variety of poetry styles, including limericks, acrostic, cinquains, quatrains, haikus, alphabet poems and five-senses poems. Each style has given students a different way to play with language, rhythm, sounds and ideas.
Our poems have been inspired by the theme of Our Land, Culture and Nature, giving students the opportunity to think deeply about the world around them and express their ideas in creative and imaginative ways. From the sights, sounds and smells of nature to the special places, stories and cultural connections that make our land unique, our classroom has been filled with wonderful words and thoughtful ideas.
We have had plenty of rhyming, counting, describing and experimenting with words along the way! It has been fantastic to see students discovering that poetry doesn't always have to rhyme and that there are so many ways to share an idea or feeling.
Most importantly, our young poets have been having fun, taking creative risks and discovering the power of their own words. We can't wait to see where their imaginations take them next!
Grade 5/6 Abstract Landscapes inspired by NAIDOC Week
For many weeks, our Grade 5/6 students have been working on an abstract landscape artwork inspired by Aboriginal artist Emily Kame Knawarreye. They have finally been completed. Words cannot describe how proud I am of their creativity, expression and storytelling in these artworks. Amazing!
