Despite the end of the 2024 academic year in sight, the boys have continued to work hard and have maintained high standards – this will continue to be encouraged all the way through to the concluding bell of Term 4.
Congratulations to the following students who have been recognised for demonstrating GRIT. As has been the case throughout the year, a student from each Homeroom is nominated for showing GRIT. The nomination can be put forward (to the Homeroom teacher) by any member of staff.

Earlier in the semester, 68 Junior School students participated in the Australian Maths Competition. First run in 1978, The Australian Mathematics Competition is Australia’s longest running, largest and most well-known maths competition for school students. The Australian Maths Competition contains unique problems designed each year by leading educators and academics to challenge and extend students’ problem-solving skills.
Congratulations to all the students who participated in the competition and particular kudos to the below students who received a Credit or Distinction

On Wednesday, 20 November, approximately 80 Junior School students competed at an AFL 9’s tournament which was played at Victoria Park against local secondary schools. Unfortunately, we were restricted with the number of entries we could make – we had over 130 students who expressed a desire to participate. The students were selected based on a criteria – one being the student's behaviour and engagement to the College. This opportunity was an important way of rewarding the students who have maintained high standards throughout the year in terms of their effort and behaviour both in and out of the classroom. There are plenty of opportunities like this in the future e.g. Liam Duggan Academy in which an individual's adherence to the College’s values and expectations is paramount so for those who did miss out on participating, please keep this in mind for future occasions.
Earlier in the term, the Year 7 cohort swooped on the opportunity to participate in the Laurie Larmer Cup – a badminton competition which was facilitated by our Year 11 VM students. Congratulations to Year 7 students Elijah Thomas and Luke Siemensma who were the overall winners and to Keniry House for winning the House Competition.
Exam marking day – Friday, 22 November
Please be advised, as per the College Calendar, that there are no scheduled classes on November 22.
Lion King Matinee Performance for Year 7 – Wednesday, 27 November
The Year 7 cohort have been invited by the Lion King Jnr crew to view their matinee performance. The show will start at 1.50pm which means the students will have an altered timetable for Lesson 4 and Lesson 5. The students have been briefed on theatre etiquette to ensure maximum engagement and respect for the show and the cast.
2025 Year 7 Orientation Day – Tuesday, 3 December
There are no scheduled 2024 Year 7 classes scheduled as this day is used to support the transition of next year's Year 7 students.
