Inverloch Relationship Building Day

On Friday 20th February the Year 10 Team and cohort will be attending Inverloch for a relationship building day. Holocaust Museum Excursion

On Monday 2nd March Year 10 students will be attending the Holocaust Museum in Melbourne. This day is designed to support learning in Humanities. Please see Compass for details.

The Year Ahead

Year 10 is the year of endless opportunities...

Term 1 will focus on supporting students to explore and prepare themselves for work experience (more details below).

Term 2 is when students will spend two weeks in their work placements. Work experience will run from Monday 11th to Friday 22nd May. Term 2 will also be where students start exploring and choosing their preferred pathway for 2027 (Course Counselling).

Term 3 will see our ‘2026 Trip to Tassie’ camp which is a highlight for many and great way to make memories to keep of the year. Further details can be found on Compass.

While in Term 4 students who nominated to enrol in a VET course for 2027 will complete an orientation day at the TAFE campus for their chosen VET course. Students will also celebrate their last moments at the junior campus with the Year 10 formal.

In between all of this there will be opportunities to participate in the Multi Industry Pathway Program as well as spend time exploring university courses through the Fed Uni Experience Days.

Your child will be supported by a very experienced team of teachers. You are encouraged to contact any member of the team with regards to the progress of your child as well as any questions you have with regards to Work Experience, Course Counselling or any of the programs offered throughout the year.

Expectations and Attendance

With such a busy program and students representing the school in local workplaces across our region, Kurnai College has high expectations of all student’s behaviour in ways which reflect our values.

The Year 10 team will continually communicate to the students on the expectations of attendance, behaviours and wearing correct uniform. Staff will acknowledge these behaviours with Positive Acknowledgement messages home.

We appreciate your support on these matters and this week draw your attention to notifying the school if your child is absent and signing out your child from the front office if you collect your child early from school.
