Dear SMCM Community, Wominjeka!

Congratulations to our Foundation students who celebrated their 50th Day at school this week! As they count their way to '100 Days of School' they celebrated the halfway milestone with half a day of special activities all about halves and the number 50. We look forward to watching them grow and learn over the next 50 days!

This week the Allan Labor Government announced in the 2024-25 State budget a $400 School Saving Bonus for all government school students regardless of income. At this time, only Health Care Card holders in Catholic Schools will be eligible for the payment.

Our peak body, the Victorian Catholic Education Authority, are working hard to oppose this policy to ensure families are not treated unfairly for choosing a Catholic Education for their children.

With joyful love and gratitude, we celebrate our mothers, and all who are like mothers to us.

We remember our mothers who are still with us, those who live in distant places, and those who have died.

Through the love they have shown us, and the way they nurture and care for us, mothers help us to know something of the heart of God.

Wishing you all a very Happy Mother's day on Sunday and we look forward to celebrating with our community on Monday morning!
