Exciting Term 2 Ahead
Welcome back to Term 2!
Term 2 is always very busy and this year will be like no exception! Our Cross Country event is fast approaching, along with ANZAC Day and our College Open Night. NAIDOC celebrations are planned for later in the term and there are many interschool sporting events scheduled during Term 2. Please keep a close eye on our Facebook Page and Compass, as well as regularly checking in with your child as to what events are coming up.
Fantastic News
Last term we submitted a capital works grant application to build a new playground for our primary students. Yesterday, we received a letter from the Victorian Schools Building Authority to say that we were successful with our application and have been approved funding for $572,951. We’re extremely excited about this result and look forward to working with the VSBA on the scope of the project. I will provide more details of the project once they have been confirmed with the VSBA, but this is a terrific result for our students!
ANZAC Day
On Thursday 25th April our school has been invited to participate in the Merbein ANZAC March. All students are welcome to march behind the school banner in school uniform.
Students are asked to meet in front of the RSL building in Commercial Street at 9.00am. We will march along Commercial Street (at approximately 9.15am) to the Kenny Park Gates where a wreath laying ceremony will be held, followed by a formal ANZAC Service at the rotunda in the park.
Any students who wish to march as part of the school group MUST be in full school uniform.
Reminder - Facebook Page & Compass
Just a reminder to please keep a close eye on our Facebook Page and Compass, as well as regularly checking in with your child as to what exciting things are happening across the college and what events are coming up. These are the two major sources of information and communication between school and families. Our newsletter will also provide reminders and event dates for families, with a major newsletter sent home twice per term.
