Year 5 History Expo
On Tuesday morning, the Grade 5 cohort presented their hard work and creative design during our History Expo for 2026. This was the culmination of our recent History unit where students learnt about Australian colonial history from the First Fleet to the birth of democracy, including the impact on First Nations Peoples.
It was so wonderful seeing the effort and enthusiasm as our students engaged with our school community, parents and other students, explaining and describing the choices around their diorama designs. Some even including our most recent year level excursion to Sovereign Hill as inspiration for their creation.
Please enjoy some photos from across the morning.
Thanks to all that attended from the year 5 team.
Year 1 Technology and Design
As part of our Technology and Design unit, Year 1 students are exploring pop-up books. They are learning to recognise features such as folds, flaps, tabs and moving parts, and discovering how these elements work together. Students will investigate how pop-ups are made and how paper can be folded, cut and joined to create movement and bring illustrations to life. This week we had fun making own rocket pop up card.
Robotics
Students in 2M learning to code using Dash robots.
Maths at IPS
This week a group of year 2 students and some year 3 students came to show me their work. George D in year 3 came to explain his mathematical thinking and from year 2, students came to show me their critical thinking around fractions. Here you can see Millie, Isla, Jack, Albee, Ann and Natasha from year 2 and George all demonstrating how they think about fractions and can solve problems.
