HOW CAN I REDUCE PLASTIC AT HOME?

Plastic waste is a major problem for our environment and wellbeing. Taking steps to reduce plastic at home and school is a step in the right direction. 

WAYS TO REDUCE PLASTIC AT HOME

  1. Avoid 2. Reduce 3. Reuse 4. Recycle 5.Choose compostable.
  • Carry reusable bottles.
  • Reuse shopping bags.
  • Avoid excessive food packaging.
  • Buy in bulk and refill items.
  • Replace plastic Tupperware with PBA free containers, glass, or metal. 

WAYS TO REDUCE PLASTIC AT SCHOOL

  • Use a reusable water bottle.
  • Pack food loose in containers. 
  • Use plastic free school supplies.
  • Repurpose packaging.
  • Instead of laminating go for plastic free display options.
  • Use reusable items for class parties and events.

    UPCYCLING SENIOR ELECTIVE 

    This semester senior students worked with Gary on individual and group activities to repurpose wooden offcuts, pieces of dowel, and used items such as iron horseshoe shapes to make skipping rope handles, book ends, photo frames and a horseshoe game. Blake worked on a tech-deck ramp for his mini skateboard.
