Statewide Strike - QTU

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

I wish to inform you that members of the Queensland Teachers’ Union (QTU) at Ironside State School have advised the Department of Education of their intention to participate in a 24-hour stop work action on Tuesday, 25 November 2025.

As a result, some teachers will not be attending school on Tuesday, 25 November 2025 as part of a statewide strike related to ongoing Teachers’ enterprise bargaining negotiations between the Department and the QTU.

At this stage, it is unclear how many teachers from Ironside State School will be participating in this industrial action. However, I want to reassure you that the school will remain open during this time, and we are currently working to finalise arrangements to ensure students are supported.

We will communicate with you again as soon as possible to confirm the arrangements for the day of the industrial action.

The safety and wellbeing of students remain our highest priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work through this matter.
