Dear School Community Members,
We have a number of exciting events coming up!
This week we celebrated our Preps 100th day at school – an event to recognise and applaud the achievements of our Prep Learning Community. Next week we have a number of students participating in the District Athletics Championships, along with our T-Ball Team competing in the Regional Championships. We also have our Grade 6’s venturing off to Cave Hill Creek for their camp on Wednesday, 12th August. Further into the term, we will celebrate Book Week where students will participate in a range of exciting activities to continue developing their thirst for literacy, and our annual Colour Run on Thursday, 3rd September. And of course, our State School Spectacular Team performing at John Cain Arena on Saturday, 29th August.

School Values - Respect:
Our school values—Respectful Rocky, Responsible Ronnie, and Safe Sally—will continue to be a key focus throughout this term. These values are embedded in all aspects of school life and will be highlighted through our Student of the Week awards, displays around the school, and regular classroom discussions and activities. Our staff remain committed to modelling these values every day and supporting students to develop a strong understanding of what they look like in action.
Respect means treating others with kindness, fairness, and understanding. At Mano, respect also extends to caring for others' property and our environment.
One of our student leaders recently captured the meaning of respect beautifully:
“Respect means taking responsibility for each other and speaking and interacting with others in a considerate way. Respect is also about being honest, reliable, and trustworthy.”
We think this is a wonderful reflection of what respect looks like in our school community and a great reminder for us all.
Thank you to our families for your ongoing support in reinforcing and modelling our school values at home. By working together, we help create a positive, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for every student.
Manifold Heights Primary School 100 Year Celebration:
As you will be aware, Manifold Heights Primary School proudly celebrates 100 years of education, community and history this year! We invite our current and past families, students, staff and community members to join us for a very special weekend of celebrations on Friday, 9 October and Saturday, 10 October.
The celebrations will include an official ceremony, guided school tours, an afternoon and evening of celebration, as well as a range of exciting activities for all ages. Visitors will also have the opportunity to view a wonderful collection of historic memorabilia and school artefacts, showcasing the rich history of our school over the past century.
We encourage all families to help spread the word and invite former students, staff and community members to join us. Be sure to follow our social media pages for updates and further event information as the celebrations draw closer.

From time to time, families seek support, advice and guidance on multiple aspects of their child’s development. This includes, “how can I help my child write better” or “how much screen time should I allow my child?” While there is a vast array of resources available, the ‘Generation Next’ website is full of information and support on a range of topics. Some of the most recent ‘stories’ include:
