Junior School

Boys and Play
Anyone who has passed through the Junior School courtyard this term has likely witnessed the joy and creativity sparked by a collection of milk crates and bread trays. From go-kart races, huts, thrones, seated handball and crate soccer, our inventive boys have transformed these everyday items into the foundation for endless imaginative play.
At Trinity, we believe in nurturing a love of play that extends beyond the playground. Play is a powerful tool for learning; it enhances brain development by fostering critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and imagination. It supports emotional wellbeing by giving boys a way to express themselves through action rather than words. Through play, boys learn to navigate frustration, build resilience, and develop essential motor skills and coordination, all while improving their physical health.
Importantly, playing helps boys burn off energy, which can lead to improved focus in the classroom. When boys engage in self-directed play, they learn to make choices, take risks, and trust their instincts—skills that build confidence and a strong sense of independence.
We look forward to witnessing more opportunities for our boys to engage in meaningful, creative play. It’s through these playful experiences that they grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually thriving not just in the classroom, but in all areas of life.
God Bless,
James McPherson

Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews
On Monday, 21 July we will be holding online Parent-Teacher-Student Interviews. Further information will be sent in the coming weeks. All interviews will take place between 9:00am and 4:00pm. This will provide an opportunity to discuss your son’s progress throughout Semester One and set achievable goals for Semester Two.
All boys Years 4 to 6 will return to school on Tuesday, 22 July.
Music Night
Last Friday provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all the wonderful gifts and talents on display at our Junior School music night. Since the start of the term, the boys have been practicing diligently in their ensemble, choir, and band, and it was wonderful to see everything come together on the night.
A big thank you to Lena Bennett, Steven Harmer, Ventia Webber, Richard Braham, Ann Clarke and Dr. Rob Braham for their support and guidance of the Junior School boys. The night would not have been possible without the support of Lisa Krogh, the Friends of Performing Arts and the assistance of the Junior School teachers on the evening. Thank you to all.
