Division Cross Country

Yesterday I had the pleasure of watching our students compete in the Division Cross Country at Bundoora Park. Cross country is an all-weather event, and boy was the event all about the weather!! The course was soggy from the first event and was almost a full Slip n Slide by the final event. The effort and persistence that is required to compete in this event in the icy cold and heavy rain is to be admired. Congratulations to Holly B, Cara and Maddy B, Freya B, Angus F, River S, Tom S, Willow S and Imogen W for braving the elements and putting 100% into their races. We will have several of our students progressing to the region level competition soon.

Monday Public Holiday

Just a friendly reminder that Monday is a public holiday, so we’ll all have an extra day to stay snuggled in bed during the single digit temperatures that we have been blessed with overnight of late.

Presentation to Sarah Van Nieukerk today

Congratulations to Sarah on being the recipient of a 2025 School Sport Victoria Recognition Award. The award recognises Sarah’s hard work and dedication to school sport. This is a significant award, and Sarah will be presented with a trophy today at our assembly today. We’d love to see you there to support Sarah in receiving this wonderful recognition of her efforts in everything that she does to contribute to the development of School Sport.

Student Semester 1 Progress Reports

We will be providing student achievement reports for Semester 1 this year as usual.

The reports will continue to provide important details about student learning attainment, but full descriptive comments will not be included as a result of industrial action taken earlier this term by the Australian Education Union.

We will of course be pleased to discuss with you your child’s progress at our next parent-teacher interviews scheduled for Wednesday June 24th between 11:30am-6:20pm. Further booking information will be available the week prior.

OSHC will be available for those that require care. Please contact them directly for bookings on oshc@elthamnorthps.vic.edu.au or 9439 3607

Year 2 and 3/4 performing at assembly - Week 8

The Grade 2, and 3/4 students have been completing their dance unit in Performing Arts this term. They are now ready to perform their completed dances and would like to showcase these are our assembly in Week 8, on Friday, June 12th. We invite you to come along and watch their spectacular dances. The assembly will start a bit earlier than usual at 2:45pm, to accommodate the three difference dances. The Grade 2 students are encouraged to bring clothing items that match the theme of our song (which is Zoo / animals). This is optional, they do not have to. The Grade 3 / 4 students are also encouraged to bring clothing items and accessories relevant to their two dances, which is cowgirl/cowboy western themed. This is optional, they do not have to.

All students are to still come in full school uniform on the day and to bring along their outfit items in a separate bag. The dances will go ahead, weather pending. We will confirm 2 days prior if poor weather is forecast. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Ms Jedrys.

Disco

On Tuesday June 23rd we will be holding our Day Disco in the hall. The theme for this year is Superheroes and Disney. Students are invited to dress in these themes. Costumes do not need to be runway quality or detail. Student can wear a touch of Disney or Superhero through to full costumes if they already have something they fancy wearing. It is probably a good idea to test out the costume at home to some tunes to see if dancing is possible in the costumes selected to avoid disappointment on the day.  The discos will be run in year levels groups from 9:15am-1:00pm.

Happy Friday to everyone and wishing you a fab long weekend!
