Dear Families,
Welcome to the final newsletter of the year.
It has been another very successful year at Keelonith Primary School, year number 5, with significant improvement across almost every area of our data. It is truly amazing to reflect on how far we have come as we end 2025. This year has been filled with learning, growth and many joyful moments.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to our incredible staff for their unwavering dedication to our students. I hope they all enjoy a well-deserved and relaxing holiday.
In 2025, our staff organised and led memorable excursions such as Science Works, Sovereign Hill and other locations. We also enjoyed exciting incursions such as Mad About Science, Life Education and Dance. Our students took part in swimming lessons, interschool sports, the Prep Breakfast, the Year 1 Disco, the Year 2 Sleepover and the Years 3 to 6 camps. Fly High Night and the Colour Run were fantastic events that marked the start and end of the year.
A special thank you goes to the SCA for their contributions to these events, including the Colour Run, the Mother, Father and Special Person Day stalls and the Footy Day lunch. These activities have created lasting memories for our students and assisted us in purchasing more iPads and other technology items.
The learning growth we have seen in our students this year has been the strongest we have ever recorded, and we are excited to continue supporting their development in the years ahead. A big thank you to our team for ensuring that student reports were sent to families today. Please remember to download and save your digital copies, as the Compass app will not retain them indefinitely, particularly as your child progresses to secondary school.
Congratulations to our new School Captains for 2026: Ameera, Mira, Zainab and Aleksa. We look forward to seeing you thrive in your new roles. A big thank you to our 2025 Captains, Eva, Ayda, Seydi and Chris, for their outstanding leadership this year.
Please be reminded that from 2026 the school day will end at 3.20 pm each day. Assembly will also take place every second Monday at 9.00 am.
Congratulations to the SCA who today raised $1210 from our raffle.
Today we farewelled our Year 6 students, along with Lauren Walker, Lakmini (ES), Patrick Mac Donough and Joe LaMatina and Dana Cateldo. They took part in our traditional student and staff archway.
I too say farewell and have included my farewell letter, which was sent to the community last Sunday, at the end of this newsletter. Thank you to the many members of the community who have sent me beautiful, heartfelt messages and cards, and who have presented me with flowers and gifts this week. I have truly been spoilt and feel very cared for by this community. I will miss you all and wish you every success in the future.
Keep learning and fly high,
Loren Peavey
