This Week At OOPS

Year 4 Camp

Our Year 4 students are off to a fantastic start at Camp Rumbug! Despite the rainy weather, the students have enthusiastically embraced every activity, including Flying Fox, Giant Swing, Canoeing, Mud Run, Raft Building, Team Challenge, Aero Ball and Archery.

So many students have already taken the opportunity to step outside of their comfort zones and have been enthusiastic cheerleaders for their group members through every activity rotation.

We look forward to welcoming them back tomorrow and hearing all about their adventures.

STEM

Our Year 1 and 2 students have been learning about sustainability and how we can care for our school environment. They have been upcycling old egg cartons to create insect houses, designed to encourage helpful insects into our garden.

Wellbeing in the Sunshine

The glimpse of warmer weather and sunshine this week meant our Wellbeing Wagon was back out in the playground, giving students opportunities for structured play, connection, and fun during break times.

The sandpit was also one of the busiest places in the school! It was wonderful to see students of different ages playing alongside one another, making new connections, sharing resources, taking turns and working together on some very impressive sand creations and tunnel systems.

These moments are a great reminder that play is an important part of wellbeing. Through positive play experiences, students build friendships, practise social skills and learn how to cooperate and play respectfully with others.

We’re looking forward to plenty more sunny days and seeing our students continue to connect, play and have fun together!
