Congratulations Athletes
Well done to our Year 4, 5 and 6 students who represented Bundoora Primary School at Division Athletics last week. All students displayed great sportsmanship and pride in our school. Special congratulations to Cooper, JJ and Lou, who have qualified for the regional competition next term.
Grade 5/6 Camp
Despite the typical Melbourne weather, our Year 5/6 students and teachers had a thoroughly enjoyable camp in August. Students showed resilience and teamwork as they tackled challenging activities in less-than-ideal conditions, making the most of every opportunity. A huge thank you and congratulations to Jamie and the team for their outstanding organisation, which ensured a smooth and memorable experience for all.
Prep/1/2 Activity Day and Sleepover
Congratulations to our Prep–Year 2 team for their incredible effort in organising this much-loved annual event. Students spent the day in mixed groups, enjoying a variety of fun activities before sharing pizza and a movie in the evening. It was a privilege to join the evening program and help settle the Year 2 students after the Year 1s headed home. Throughout the day, our students were beautifully behaved and demonstrated the strong sense of community we value at Bundoora Primary.
Leading Instructional Excellence
At Bundoora, we are committed to supporting the learning and growth of our staff so that we can continue to improve student outcomes. Tiffany Dean and I are pleased to share that we recently completed the Leading Instructional Excellence program at the Victorian Academy of Teaching and Leadership. This evidence-informed program strengthened our capacity to lead explicit teaching across the school.Key knowledge we will bring back to share with our colleagues includes:
Congratulations Mrs Tabb
We are delighted to congratulate Mrs Alyce Tabb and her family on the arrival of baby Hazel in August. We were lucky enough to meet Hazel at school this week—what a joy!
Staff Luncheon
On Wednesday, September 17th, our staff were treated to a delicious pizza lunch, kindly provided by our Parents and Friends Association, School Council, and the wider school community. This thoughtful gesture was hugely appreciated, particularly at the end of a busy term. It was a wonderful chance for staff to connect and enjoy some time together. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Thank You and Farewell to Mrs Louise McLean
We extend our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Mrs Louise McLean, who will be leaving Bundoora Primary early in Term 4 to take on a leadership position in Disability Inclusion at a larger school. Over the past five years, Mrs McLean has contributed to our school in many roles—from Education Support to Office Manager, and most recently as Disability Inclusion Manager. We are deeply grateful for her skills, dedication, and generosity, and wish her every success in her new role.
School Contributions
At Bundoora, we are committed to giving every student the best possible learning experience. School is more than classrooms and lessons—it’s a place where children explore, create and discover.Voluntary contributions from families play a vital role in making this possible. These contributions help fund books, classroom resources, science kits, technology and enrichment programs that bring learning to life. They enable teachers to provide experiences that spark creativity, encourage problem-solving, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a real difference. It is an investment in your child’s education and in our school community. Your support helps us maintain a vibrant, engaging and well-resourced learning environment where every child feels supported, inspired, and empowered to succeed. To contribute, please contact or visit the school office. Thank you for being such an important part of our community—together, we are shaping a bright future for our students.
Wishing You a Safe and Happy Holiday
As we wrap up another busy term, I wish all families a safe, happy, and restful holiday break.
