God's Love and Care for All

Term 4, Week 3

Dear Parents/Carers,

October is recognised in the Catholic Church as World Mission Month, a time when Catholics all over the world join to support and celebrate global missionary work. Our efforts in supporting missionary work and being missionary ourselves is informed by the Catholic Social teachings CST) which are the basis of our Catholic faith.

Catholic Social Teaching (CST) is a rich body of doctrine developed by the Catholic Church on matters of social justice and human dignity. CST emphasizes the inherent worth and dignity of every individual, promoting solidarity, subsidiarity, and the common good. It calls for a just society where the needs of the poor and vulnerable are prioritized, advocating for peace, economic justice, and environmental stewardship, and striving for a more just and compassionate world.

Please support our  Socktober Challenge next Friday when we invite our students and families  kick goals for kids in need off the field, and we acknowledge our missionary efforts and the work of others across the globe.  More information in the RE News section of the newsletter.

Not Returning to Our Lady's in 2024 -  We are in the process of preparing classes for next year. If you are not intending to return in 2024 could you please send an email to admin@olps.vic.edu.au.  All we require is the name of your school for 2024 so we can send the relevant transfer documentation.

Next Thursday we welcome our Year Prep 2024 children as they commence their educational journey at Our Lady's. The Headstart Program,  provides our students with an opportunity to attend school during November and  allows each child to learn, discover and grow through providing opportunities and experiences that engage and extend their interests. Our current Year 6 students were our first Headstart group.

Please check our School Community Calendar for all the important days and times for our end of year activities.  Looking forward to a most exciting time of the year as we count down to Christmas - only 65 more sleeps!

Take Care

Paul
