Dear Parents,
The end of the term has come quickly. We have had an extremely busy term. Congratulations to all our children and staff on a wonderful term of work. Two highlights for me….. 1) the School Concert which showcases the amazing work and opportunities we provide at Bathurst Public School every day and 2) Parent Teacher Interviews. I can't underestimate the importance of teachers and parents talking and planning for our children. It takes a village to raise a child, and we thank you for allowing us to work alongside you everyday. Well done to all of our children on their terrific work this term, and thank you to the staff for their ongoing commitment and dedication to the children and their families at Bathurst Public School.
In the past week, we have had many current Year 12 graduates and ex students of Bathurst PS come back to visit in their final week of school. Congratulations to all the former Year 6 Bathurst Public School students graduating from Year 12 this week! We are so proud of your achievements and the growth you’ve shown since your primary school days. Wishing you every success as you take your next steps beyond school—continue to shine and reach for your goals!
BPS had an outstanding day at the Western Region Athletics Carnival last Friday. Despite the warm weather, all our athletes showed great sportsmanship and gave their best efforts in every event. A huge congratulations to the following students who will be proudly representing our school, and the entire Western Region, at the upcoming PSSA State Athletics Carnival early next term: Poppy Holman (8 years, 100m), Boston Hurditch (9 years, 100m), Charlie Seager (Junior Girls Long Jump), our Junior Boys Relay team of Boston Hurditch, James Hollier, Logan Davis, and Patrick Muldoon, as well as our Junior Girls Relay team comprising of Poppy Holman, Jemimah Lyle, Charlie Seager, and Scarlett Swift. Well done to all our athletes for their dedication and fantastic performances! A special thanks to Mrs Guihot for being a Bathurst District PSSA Manager last Friday at the carnival.

Today, Kindergarten have celebrated Milo's Birthday by enjoying a party. Our children and staff looked amazing. Congratulations Kindergarten on your incredible first three terms of learning at Bathurst Public School.

Spotlight on Attendance
We are pleased to report an increase in the percentage of students attending school more than 90% of the time. Our unexplained absence rate is currently at 9%. Thank you to all families for your ongoing support in ensuring regular attendance.
If your child is absent, please use the Parent Portal app to explain the reason for their absence. Simply select the absence and provide the appropriate details—this helps us maintain accurate attendance records. If you need assistance or have any questions, please contact the school office.
Our 10 Day Term 4 Intensive Swimming Program will occur from Monday 23rd November - Friday 4th December at the Manning Aquatic Centre. This program will be open to all children from Kindergarten to Year 6. Qualified swimming instructors employed by the Manning Aquatic Centre will teach the children. Sessions will be 45 minutes long and will run for 10 days between 9.15am. and 2.00 pm. School staff will accompany children to and from the pool. The cost will be $105.00 for the 10-day program, including bus travel, facility entry, and professional instruction. You can pay through our Sentral Parent Portal or at the front office by cash or EFTPOS. We are not accepting Active Kids and First Lap vouchers this year. If you would like your child to attend, please answer the questions through the Sentral Parent Portal. The Portal does not provide or update medical information. Please contact the front office with any medical updates. Please pay a $50 deposit to secure your child's position in the program by Thursday, 24th September. Please pay the final balance by Friday, 6th November. After this date, no refunds will be available. Parents will be informed of their child's class details before the program begins. Parents are asked to contact the school and update their child's medical information closer to the start of the program if necessary. If parents have any further questions regarding this Intensive Swimming Program, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Mitchell, Miss Reedy or Mrs White.
