News From Mrs Geary

Dear School Community Members,

Concert practice is underway!

We are so excited to share that Mrs Grant and Mrs Charter have begun the highly anticipated concert practice — and what a wonderful start it has been! The children have thrown themselves into rehearsals with great enthusiasm, and it has been a joy to see how much they are enjoying every session.

From learning their songs to performing together as a group, the kids are having a great time, and the excitement is really building. A big thank you to Mrs Grant and Mrs Charter for making practice such an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Keep an eye out for more details on the concert date and time in Term 4. We know it's going to be a special event!

School Council - Child Safe Standards:

Like all schools across the State, Mano is committed to the Child Safe Standards. Our school actively promotes the safety and wellbeing of all students, and all of our staff and School Councillors are committed to protecting students from abuse or harm in the school environment. The Child Safe Standards are Victoria’s approach to ensuring a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse. For schools, the Child Safe Standards will ensure that proactive systems and processes are in place to prevent and respond to child abuse. They are:

  • Organisations establish a culturally safe environment in which the diverse and unique identities and experiences of Aboriginal children and young people are respected and valued
  •  Child safety and wellbeing is embedded in organisational leadership, governance and culture
  • Children and young people are empowered about their rights, participate in decisions affecting them and are taken seriously
  •  Families and communities are informed, and involved in promoting child safety and wellbeing
  •   Equity is upheld and diverse needs respected in policy and practice
  • People working with children and young people are suitable and supported to reflect child safety and wellbeing values in practice.
  •  Processes for complaints and concerns are child focused
  • Staff and volunteers are equipped with the knowledge, skills and awareness to keep children and young people safe through ongoing education and training
  • Physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children and young people to be harmed
  •  Implementation of the Child Safe Standards is regularly reviewed and improved
  •  Policies and procedures document how the organisation is safe for children and young people

Our policies related to the Child Safe Standards, along with our Code of Conduct is available on our website.
