Head of Primary
Dear Bayside Families,
While I am currently on leave, I continue to hold our students, staff, and families in my prayers and thoughts. I’m so grateful for the dedicated leadership of our Primary team, who are ensuring learning and community life continue to flourish.
Thank you for your encouragement and understanding during this time. I look forward to reconnecting with you all soon.
God bless,
Mrs Danielle Lupi, Head of Primary

Prep News
Prep Dinner
Our Prep students arrived with big smiles and hearts full of excitement for their special dinner night! The evening was filled with dancing, singing, and laughter, followed by a delicious pizza dinner and a chocolate Paddle Pop for dessert.
It was a wonderful celebration and a joyful start to our camping program. A very special thank you to our amazing parent helpers who served dinner, washed up, packed away, and joined in the fun on the dance floor. Your help and enthusiasm made the night truly memorable!
In the Classroom
Our Prep students returned from holiday taller and eager to learn! This final term, creativity blooms as we explore Living Things and celebrate God’s amazing creation. We’re mastering addition, number recognition, and some are joyfully tackling times tables. It’s a blessing to see their excitement and growth. “Let all that you do be done in love” (1 Corinthians 16:14).

Wayang Puppet Show
Our Year 1/2 students had so much fun creating and performing their own Wayang (shadow puppet) shows about Kancil, the clever mousedeer!
In small groups, students imagined their own Kancil adventures, wrote the story, used a dictionary to learn new words, made puppets, and performed their shows for their classmates. There was so much laughter, creativity, and teamwork as they shared their stories in Indonesian. Well done to our amazing young performers!

Years 1/2 Maths
Students explored the concept of arrays and repeated addition as a foundation for understanding multiplication. Using practical apparatus, they created rows and columns to represent different multiplication facts in a hands-on way. The activity helped students visualise how groups of equal numbers form the basis of multiplication.
Students worked collaboratively to build and describe their arrays using mathematical language. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they connected repeated addition to multiplication in a fun and meaningful context.

Northern Division Athletics
Thirteen of our Year 4–6 athletes represented our school at the Northern Division Athletics on Wednesday 8 October. What a day it was! Some might even say “What a Time to Be Alive!” We piled into the minibus at 8:30am, buzzing with excitement (and a few nerves) as we made our way to the Mornington Athletics Track.
The place was absolutely packed, over 1,000 people, including students, staff, parents, and possibly a few cats and dogs. The sun was shining, the music was pumping (mainly coming out of Michael’s mouth) , and the competition was fierce! Our athletes gave it everything they had!
Sammi G and Delaney T started strong in the 1500m, finishing 4th and 6th respectively, a huge effort in such a tough event!
Ava B soared to new heights in High Jump with a personal best of 1.13m, landing her in 4th place!
In Triple Jump, Arik M and Liviya V leapt their way to 6th and 4th, while Logan J came in 4th with a jump that nearly needed a passport!
Kenzy H absolutely blistered down the track to WIN the 80m Hurdles and book herself a ticket to Regionals!
Chase M and Walter B sprinted through their 100m races, finishing 4th and 8th, no shortage of speed or determination there.
Michael P channelled his inner Usain Bolt in the 200m, complete with flair and celebration, finishing a very strong 4th!- After an earlier 1500m race, Sammi G somehow found another gear in the 800m to finish 3rd, a superhuman effort!
Olive O also ran a brilliant 800m, with a friendly rival (and basketball teammate) pushing her all the way to a well-deserved 3rd place!
The 11-year-old boys’ 4 x 100m relay (Logan J, Jett T, Michael P, Chase M) team ran an absolute thriller, storming home from 4th to 2nd in the final 100m! The sportsmanship on display between both teams afterwards was just as impressive as the race itself, brilliant to see.
And of course, the unofficial MVP of the day was Caleb K, who spent the entire day cheering, supporting, and keeping spirits high… all while listening to Michael P’s non-stop singing! Caleb then capped off the day in spectacular style, leading from start to finish in the 800m to take 1st place and qualify for Regionals next week!
A huge congratulations to all our athletes for their effort, sportsmanship, and energy. You represented Bayside with pride and maybe a few sunburnt noses!

Jogging Club News
Our Jogging Club has continued to grow in enthusiasm and energy throughout Term 4! It’s been fantastic to see so many students turning up with smiles on their faces, eager to challenge themselves and enjoy running with friends.
Monday lunchtime sessions on the oval and our Friday morning community runs have both been well attended, with parents and siblings often joining in to start the day in an active and positive way.
Congratulations to all students who have achieved milestone certificates this term for completing 10, 25, or 50 laps. It’s a wonderful recognition of persistence and effort. With just a few weeks left in the school year, we’re looking forward to seeing even more laps added to those totals!
Keep up the great work, every lap counts!
