Short but big week!

Dear parents and carers,

Greeting students arriving off the bus earlier this week, there were lots of stories of times away and some interesting adventures over the long weekend - it was great to start the week with catch-ups about the long weekend. Whilst it has been a short week, as usual it has been busy at Naranga School. By now, the Student Support Group meetings are winding up so there is still time to catch up with your child's classroom teacher.

Now that the Student Representative Council has been established, the teachers have been working with the students to help them develop the skills to run our school Wednesday assembly's.  This Wednesday was the first assembly for 2025 where the students ran the event.  It was encouraging to see the next group having a real go, showing a willingness to go outside their comfort zone and speak in front of the whole school.  I am sure the students will continue to grow in confidence.

Yesterday a few of our Senior and Pathways students attended one of the Grand Prix days. From all accounts, the time at the event was very loud, however that did not dampen the enthusiasm and enjoyment.

Finally, I enjoyed a tour of the new building this week and it was very exciting to see the progress with rooms painted and doors in place, the next job is to carpet the floors!  In the yard, play equipment has been installed, including shade cloth, providing a fun and protected place to play.  The garden has been planted out and three established trees, two of which have been moved from within the school, enhance the garden space and add extra shade.  We are excited at the project's completion in the not so distant future.
