National Schools Tree Planting Day
Last week schools all over Australia participated in the Schools Tree Planting Day. Naranga School registered the event with Planet Ark and Frankston council kindly donated fifty seedlings. Students across the school took part in planting small shrubs and trees to help improve our school environment. Pathways Sustainability students planted tree seedlings along the fenceline of the school. Junior McFaul's class planted small shrubs in the area outside the staffroom and in the shaded area opposite the bbq area. All the plants are suited to our coastal environment and are drought tolerant. We will keep watering them until they develop. These shrubs will help to revegetate garden spaces and provide habitat areas for wildlife.
Thank you to staff and students for participating in this event.
