Intermediate Girls AFL

The Intermediate Girls AFL team competed in the Southern Metropolitan Region Finals on Thursday July 25.

Round 1: Mordialloc vs Elizabeth Murdoch College

It was a great day of competition for our Year 9 and 10 girls. A special shout-out should go to Remi Sneddon and Luna Kovak, who played as bottom-age (Year 8) players in the Intermediate team. It was fantastic to see some seriously skilful gameplay in inclement conditions. In particular, our ability as a playing group to intercept as a defensive group and generate opportunities to score through transition as a midfield group. Some of the set plays being executed by the midfield group were exceptional and would see this team extremely competitive against the majority of school squads.

We finish the 2024 AFL year as Runners up at the SMR level, with plenty of upside for our future tournament opportunities. The talent within the girls program is large. If you happen to see any of the girls, be sure to congratulate them on their positive approach to game play and skill execution.
