Principal Team's Message

Nurture.  Innovate.  Celebrate.

Dear Students, Parents, Carers and Families,

Swimming

Our Foundation to Year 6 students had a wonderful time participating in their swimming program at Casey ARC, developing their confidence and skills in the water. Swimming is an important life skill that helps students learn how to stay safe in and around water. We were also incredibly proud of how well our students represented Maramba Primary School, consistently demonstrating our four school values of Respect, Relationships, Resilience and Responsibility throughout the program.

Celebrating Our Year 5/6 Team – Building a Culture of Consistency and Success

We would like to acknowledge our Year 5/6 team for their work in establishing clear and consistent routines and expectations across all three classrooms.

Through collaboration and a shared commitment, the team has worked with an Inclusion Outreach Coach (IOC) to explicitly teach, model and reinforce these routines, helping students understand expectations and make positive choices that support their learning and the wellbeing of others.

The impact of this work is evident in the positive behaviour outcomes across the cohort and the growing sense of team spirit among students. Having consistent expectations across the three classrooms has helped build a stronger sense of shared responsibility and belonging, with students understanding the importance of contributing to a safe, respectful and productive learning environment. It is wonderful to see the positive impact of a consistent approach and the strong sense of community developing across the cohort.

I’m thrilled to be joining  Maramba Primary School and have already loved getting to know the wonderful students in our class, along with the wider school community of staff and students.

I live on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula, but having grown up in Endeavour Hills, I already feel a connection to the local area! Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling, and cheering on my son as he plays basketball.

I am delighted to be joining Maramba Primary School in Term 4, where I will be supporting students through the Early Intervention and Extension programs. Having graduated in June this year, I am excited to begin my teaching career and become part of the school community. I look forward to contributing to the school’s learning environment, supporting students to reach their full potential, and continuing to grow as an educator.

We also welcome Amanda and Suzanne who will be joining our wonderful Education Support Staff Team.

Farewell Elise 💜

It is with mixed emotions that we share the news that Elise Crone will be finishing up at Maramba. Elise has been a valued member of our community since 2018 and has made a lasting impact on our students, staff and families. She holds a very special place in our Maramba family, and while she will be greatly missed, we wish her every success and happiness as she embarks on this exciting new chapter in her professional journey.

On Thursday, we celebrated Elise with a special farewell, aptly named “Cheers for Elise!” It was a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and thank Elise for everything she has contributed to Maramba over the years. We wish her all the very best for the future and know she will continue to make a positive difference in her new role. 💜

Daniel Andrew will be the new school chaplain and here is a brief intro from him:

Hey Maramba Primary School, I’m so excited to be joining the community here! I’ve been a chaplain for about 4 years and have led a weekly youth group for about 5 years.

I also love retro music, superhero movies, and spending time with great people, so I’m really looking forward to getting to know you all!

Planning for 2027

We are currently beginning the process of creating classes for 2027. If parents or carers have any information or requests they would like us to consider when placing their child, these must be submitted in writing to the school office by Monday, 2nd November 2026. You can also email the school on maramba.ps@education.vic.gov.au with requests. Please note that requests for specific teachers will not be accepted and neither will late requests.

If your family will not be returning to MPS next year, please notify the front office as soon as possible. Anticipated enrolment numbers have a direct impact on our future grade structures, staffing, and student placements. Early notice greatly assists us in planning effectively for the entire community. Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.

School Holiday Maintenance

The school holiday period provided a valuable opportunity to complete several important maintenance and improvement works across Maramba. New drinking taps have been installed, the entire Foundation learning space has been freshly painted, and essential concreting works have been completed in several areas of the school. These improvements help us maintain a safe, welcoming and well presented environment for our students, staff and families. We are pleased to have these works completed and thank everyone involved in helping maintain and improve our school facilities.

School Gates

Our new school gates will be open from 8:30am and locked at 3:30pm each school day, as the school grounds are not supervised outside these hours. For families requiring care before or after school, TheirCare is available. Please contact TheirCare on 0477 006 282 for further information.

As we offer a free Breakfast Club every Thursday morning, the pedestrian gate near the old and new gym will be opened at 8:05am on Thursdays to allow students to access the program.

Kind regards,

Moniba Ehsan and Stephanie Sharp
