Student Leadership at Sandringham College – A Huge Start to 2025!

It has been a massive start to the year for Student Leadership at Sandringham College, with the formal announcement of our 2025 Student Leadership Team. We are incredibly proud to see so many students stepping up to take on leadership roles and contribute to shaping the future of our school.

We received over 150 applications for the various portfolio leadership roles, highlighting the passion, dedication, and commitment of our students to making a difference. We extend our thanks and appreciation to every student who applied—your enthusiasm and willingness to lead are what make our school community strong.

A Focus on Belonging, Connection, Identity, and School Pride

In 2025, our Student Leadership Team will be working towards strengthening belonging, connection, identity, and school pride across the college. Through their various portfolios, student leaders will be driving initiatives, events, and programs designed to bring students together, foster participation, and celebrate the unique culture of Sandringham College.

Our leaders are committed to making a lasting impact on the school and ensuring every student feels a sense of ownership and pride in their experience at Sandringham College.

We are excited to see their leadership in action and look forward to the incredible work they will do throughout the year!

Introducing the Sandringham College House Competition for 2025!

We are excited to officially launch the Sandringham College House Competition for 2025!

The Sandringham College House System is a key initiative designed to foster belonging, connection, identity, and school pride within our school community.

This year marks the beginning of an exciting journey as we introduce a structured House Competition, creating opportunities for students to participate, engage, and represent their Houses.

Four New Houses, One House Shield

To kick things off, we are introducing four new Houses, which will compete for the Sandringham College House Shield across five major whole-school events throughout Terms 1, 2, and 3. These events will lay the foundation for the House System in the years to come, allowing us to build traditions, encourage participation, and strengthen school spirit.

What This Means for Students

Every student belongs to one of our four Houses, named after notable alumni who have made a significant impact in their fields:

  • HOLLANDS HOUSE (Yellow)
  • CAR HOUSE (Blue)
  • COPPERSMITH HOUSE (Green)
  • WILLIAMSON HOUSE (Red)

Students and staff have been assigned Houses, which can be found on their Compass schedule next to their names.

Throughout the year, students will have opportunities to compete in House events, earn points, and contribute to their House’s success.

House points will be awarded for participation, achievement, and school spirit, with the House Champion crowned at the end of the year!

A Huge Thank You!

A special thank you to the staff, YLLAs, and Student House Leaders who have worked hard to develop this program. Your enthusiasm and commitment have been invaluable in bringing the House Competition to life.

We look forward to an exciting year of competition and House spirit! Stay tuned for more updates, and get ready to cheer on your House!

Congratulations to Our 2025 Student Leaders!

We wish all of our 2025 Student Leaders the very best in their roles and can’t wait to see them lead, inspire, and create meaningful change within our school community!

Student Recognition

Congratulations to William Taylor for winning the Australian Scout Award.

This is a prestigious award in the scout section and requires completion of key milestones, outdoor skills, six personal projects, a 3-day adventurous journey, and a leadership course leading many activities.

"For the adventurous journey, my fellow scouts and I hiked around Lorne at the Great Otway National Park. Exploring waterfalls, caves, beaches, canyons, and much more over three days. I even ran into a teacher at Scout Hike, a hiking competition for skilled scouts with the aim of getting the most points."
