NAPLAN 2025
Assistant Principal - Michael McGowan
In 2025, NAPLAN testing will take place in March. Sandringham College will administer the test between Wednesday, March 12, and Wednesday, March 19 on the Bluff Road Campus.
Catch-up tests will occur after this window on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st March.
Sandringham College is conscious not to add stress by “overly preparing or drilling” our students in preparation for this assessment. Students are exposed to the style of assessment that they will experience in NAPLAN in their classes as part of their regular learning to ensure they feel comfortable and confident on the day.
Feel free to openly discuss the upcoming NAPLAN assessment with your child and reassure them that you will be proud of them, regardless of the outcome.
The areas tested in NAPLAN are:

Schools transitioned from paper-based to computer-based assessments in 2022. Students, teachers, parents, and carers are invited to use the public demonstration tests to familiarise themselves with the types of questions and related functionalities available in the online NAPLAN assessment.
Demonstration Site

Some of the key features include a range of question types, onscreen tools, timers, and interactive navigation. Students are encouraged to try all the tests for their year level to practice the complete range of question formats available.
Practice Tests at School will take place in the weeks before the test. These tests will be used to familiarise students with the online NAPLAN Testing platform and to ensure that all students have the NAPLAN Locked Down Browser installed on their computers.
Students with a disability
A student with a disability can undertake the demonstration tests at their school, using the device they are familiar with, to determine whether they can access the platform and which disability adjustment codes (DACs) could support their participation. All test items are keyboard accessible. Disability adjustments can be determined on a case-by-case basis by a school, together with a parent/carer, student, and where appropriate utilise tests that meet the needs of a student.
