Reflection

Yesterday, the Church celebrated the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes. This special day commemorates the Blessed Virgin Mary’s miraculous appearances to Saint Bernadette in Lourdes, France, in 1858. It serves as a beautiful reminder of Mary’s call to prayer, penance, and deep trust in God.

Known globally as a day of healing and hope, the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes invites us to reflect on faith and the comfort God provides. It is also a significant time for us to offer prayers for the sick and anyone in our community in need of strength and healing.

We honour this special day with prayer and reflection, remembering the powerful example of faith shown by Saint Bernadette. May we continue to be inspired by Our Lady of Lourdes and seek her intercession in our daily lives.

Prayer

Our Lady of Lourdes,

Mother of healing and mercy,

we come to you with open hearts.

Please bring comfort to those who are unwell

, strength to those who are tired,

and peace to everyone who needs your care.

Lead us closer to your Son, Jesus,

and teach us to live with deep faith and kindness.

Amen.
