Unfortunately, State Schools Relief does not take specific requests or offer support with items such as running shoes and fleeced rain jackets.
If you are a parent or carer and need assistance with uniforms, please make an appointment with Kate Bonazza to discuss eligibility.
Thank you.
Tuning Into Kids Program
Exciting fact: Bundoora Primary School is the first school to have had this program run at a school!
This term a group of Bundoora Primary School parents took part in the Tuning Into Kids program, facilitated by Kids First. This free 6 week program was held each Tuesday 10am-12pm at school and focused on emotion coaching- recognising, understanding and managing our own emotions as a caregiver as well as your child's emotions.
We hope to be able to run this again in 2025 and hope others will be able to take up this opportunity. Thank you to Kate Bonazza for making this happen for our school, and to our facilitators Anna Ferro and Hannah Fallah for teaching us so much.
A review by one of the parents who attended:
"This wonderful face-to-face workshop gave us a safe space to share parenting experiences and together workshop the emotion coaching techniques. Under our facilitators' guidance we grew and grew each week (and laughed!) as we, as parents, were changing our behaviour. The flow-on effect for our children was heartwarming."
EXCITING NEWS!! CALM Youth!
Ms. Kate Bonazza (Primary Wellbeing Officer) is VERY excited to share the news that Bundoora Primary School has successfully secured $15,000 to fund 20 of our eligible 5/6 students to take part in an amazing program called CALM Youth. Kate will attend the sessions with the students in Term 2. This is huge news for our school and this will be an invaluable experience for those involved.
CALM Youth will facilitate their Inspiring Purpose Through Passion (IPTP) program for 20 grade 5 & 6 students at Bundoora PS in two groups of 10. IPTP is an early intervention program, co-designed by young people. It aims to aid students through educational and social transitions, like those experienced in upper Primary School. The sessions unpack the CALM core values- Composure, Ambitious, Leaders, Mentality and culminate in students presenting a 5 week “self-discovery portfolio” centred around their passions.
Sessions are delivered by facilitators who have experienced their own disengagement or disadvantage, who have applied the CALM model to challenges throughout their lives. Relatable stories are shared with students, from facilitators' lived experience.
