As Term 1 draws to a close, we've been reflecting on all the things that have kept us busy so far. Our grade 5/6 students have been actively participating in our Buddies program, which aims to help cultivate a sense of belonging and inclusivity within our school. It has been wonderful to see many of the older students taking on leadership roles and supporting their younger peers.

We extend our congratulations to all our students who represented our school in various interschool sports competitions this month. They have demonstrated our school values and developed their skills in teamwork, sportsmanship and resilience. Next term there will be new sports to play and have a go at.

NAPLAN assessments were completed by our grade 5 students to showcase their literacy and numeracy skills. During that time the grade 6s were able to extend their mathematical knowledge and delve further into our Discovery topic of Australian History.

We have been learning more about wellbeing through The Resilience Project and The Respectful Relationships Program. These initiatives focus on building emotional resilience, gratitude, and empathy among our students. Through engaging activities and discussions, we aim to teach positive mental health strategies to navigate challenges that may arise.

And of course, our grade 5/6 students have been working through their curriculum studies. From exploring scientific concepts in STEM classes to delving into historical events and immersing themselves in different types of texts, our classrooms are always busy expanding their existing knowledge and learning new concepts. We encourage you to continue communicating with your child about what they are learning at school to reinforce concepts and engage with your child's educational journey.

We wish you and your family a wonderful school holiday and a restful break.
