Unit 3&4:
All school assessed coursework (SACs) for Unit 3 & 4 VCE subjects are now complete. The final SAT for Media Studies is due in Week 1 of Term 4. Students who have SAC redemptions or catch-ups to be completed MUST complete these before the end of term. They will be expected to complete these under supervision in concurrence with exams next week.
Unscored VCE students in Year 12 who have successfully completed all SACs will have their timetables amended to indicate that they are not required to attend school. Final portfolio interviews for Year 11 and Year 12 VM students enrolled in Unit 3 & 4 Work Related Skills will be completed in Week 1 & 2 of Term 4.
Trial Exams:
Unit 3&4 Trial Exams will be held next week from Monday 14th Sept to Friday 18th Sept. These are the final practice exams that Year 12 students will do as a cohort prior to their external examinations. These are an important assessment tool that teachers use, in conjunction with SAC results, to calculate indicative grades for students undertaking a scored VCE program.
Year 12 VCE students are only required to attend their timetabled exams and SAC redemptions (where applicable). Year 11 students enrolled in Unit 3 & 4 subjects will have regular classes running (except on Tuesday) but will be able to have the period immediately before their exam session to prepare. Where the exam coincides with a SAC, students will complete their exam, and use study sessions during the week to complete their SAC.
Trial exams will be conducted under strict VCAA exam conditions.
This means:
> Mobile phones, digital watches and all other electronic communication devices must be left outside the exam hall.
> Analogue wristwatches must be removed and placed on the desk.
> Water bottles are only permitted if the bottle is see-through and labels have been removed.
> Pencil cases must be see-through.
Please make sure you only bring see-through water bottles, see-through pencil cases, and permitted equipment & material with you into each exam.
