LEPS Winter Sports Report – Round 2 Versus St John’s Primary School
Lalor East PS teams headed into Round 2 full of energy and determination as they faced off against St John’s PS across a variety of winter sports. It was a mixed day of results, with some strong performances and hard-fought games that kept the excitement high.
Highlights from the Round:
Volleyball
Boys: A dominant performance saw the boys secure a 2-0 win, showing great teamwork and court coverage.
Girls: In a thrilling three-set match, the girls edged out a 2-1 win, an impressive comeback after dropping the second set.
Soccer
The team battled hard in a tightly contested match but came up just short with a 3-2 loss. A great effort all around, with promising signs for the season ahead.
Netball
Girls: Despite their best efforts, the girls’ team fell 15-3 to a well-drilled St John’s side.
Mixed: Another tough match ended in an 8-3 loss, but the team showed strong sportsmanship and resilience on court.

LEPS Weekly Sports Report – Round 3 vs Thomastown East
This week, Lalor East PS faced off against Thomastown East in Round 3 of the interschool sports competition. It was a spirited set of matches across volleyball, netball, and soccer, with students showing great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout.
Match Highlights:
Volleyball
Girls: A strong performance saw the girls secure a 2-0 win, maintaining great control and communication on the court.
Boys: A closely contested match ended in a 1-2 loss, with impressive rallies and determination from the team.
Netball
Girls: The team fought hard but went down 2-13, showing moments of solid defence and positioning.
Mixed: Facing a tough opponent, the mixed team suffered a 0-29 loss, but continued to support one another throughout.
Soccer
A spirited game from the team ended in a 4-1 loss, with one goal on the board and continued pressure on the opposing side.

This week, Lalor East PS travelled to take on Thomastown West in an action-packed set of Winter sports fixtures. Despite a few tough results, there were moments of strong teamwork and resilience, with a big highlight from the soccer pitch!

- Mixed Team: Lost 11–1
Girls Team: Lost 8–0
Despite the scores, both teams showed persistence in defense and growing communication on the court.
- Volleyball
- Boys: Lost 2–0
Girls: Lost 2–0
Both teams faced a well-drilled opponent and fought hard in each rally. Encouraging signs in their serves and positioning show promise for the upcoming rounds.
- Soccer (Mixed)
Win 6–0 🎉
An impressive and dominant performance from the soccer team! Their passing was sharp, and the team controlled the game from start to finish.
