Well, we are certainly amid winter now! Great to see students wearing warm clothes in the morning and some St. Joseph’s beanies on display. 

There are quite a few unnamed jumpers and beanies being left on the yard. Please label where possible. 

  

Cross Country

Well done to Polly, Millie, Oscar, Leo and Noah who participated in the Division Cross Country last week. We wish Polly, Millie and Oscar all the best next Friday as they move on to regional Cross Country in Benalla.

Wood Raffle 

Thanks to those parents who will be selling Wood Raffle tickets at the IGA this Saturday, 7th, from 8:00 am-1:00 pm. Please contact the office if you would like to help for an hour. 

 

Magnify Focus 

This term staff and students have been embedding routines in class with MultiLit, Intervention and OCHRE. Students are embracing the predictability of these routines and seeing the growth in their learning. As a staff we have had a few visits from Catholic Education Sandhurst staff and the Knowledge Society providing valuable feedback for next steps in implementation. 

As with our recent Open Days, I encourage any parents to contact the office if you would like to visit classrooms and see this teaching and learning in action. 

 

Book Club

The current book club that was sent home last week is due on June 19th. Please submit your orders before that date.

 

Kitchen Garden News

The kids learned how to make pizza dough from scratch.

 

Recipe for 1 pizza:

125g pizza flour

1/2 tsp salt

75 ml lukewarm water

1/4 tsp sugar

2g dried yeast

1 tbsp Olive Oil

  1. Mix lukewarm water with sugar and yeast,
  2. Add to flour & salt & olive oil,
  3. Mix roughly with a wooden spoon,
  4. Turn out onto a floured bench and knead till smooth.
  5. Let it rest till doubled

We also cooked some delicious pizzas on the day, with already proofed dough from the brewery.

Bridge Road Brewers - Pizza Competition 2025

Bridge Road Brewers ran its second Pizza Competition this year. We had 38 entries, and all of them were incredible.

All entries will be displayed in the brewery laneway from this Friday, May 30th, 2025.

Every student who entered, can collect a little sweet treat (from Friday 30th May onwards) from the brewery bar (with their parents) as a "thank you".

 

The 2 WINNERS were: -

  • "The Italy Mex" by Ted Cook

  • "Meatless Meat Lover" by Eliot Tracy

     

    Come and try these winning creations as they will be on the menu for two weeks.
