SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

NEW: SCHOLARSHIPS FOR DESCENDANTS OF VETERANS - WORTH UP TO $24,000
Did a parent, grandparent, or great-grandparent serve in the Australian military? Students descended from anyone who served - WWI to today, including peacekeeping - can apply for scholarships worth $4,000 to $8,000 per year for uni or TAFE. That includes the AVCAT scholarships (applications close 31 October) and the Gallipoli Scholarship ($8,000 per year, applications open in January).
Grandchildren and great-grandchildren are eligible, and women's wartime service (nurses, AWAS, WAAAF, WRANS) counts the same as any other. These programs receive far fewer applications than mainstream scholarships - some go unawarded.

Please note: The Digger Scholarships is a new Australian website that helps students identify existing scholarships available to descendants of Australian service personnel. The website itself does not award the scholarships, so students should always check the eligibility requirements and apply directly through the official scholarship provider. The $59 "Decode My Digger" service is optional.
