Growing in Faith through the Rosary
Welcome back to a new term of learning, growing and sharing together!
As our students settle back into the rhythm of school, October offers us a beautiful opportunity to deepen our prayer life. October is celebrated as the Month of the Holy Rosary. A special
time to rediscover this prayer and to reflect on the life of Jesus through the eyes of Mary.
Students will begin exploring the Rosary: what it is, how we pray it and why it has been such an important prayer for Catholics throughout the centuries. As students become familiar with the prayers and mysteries of the Rosary, they will also discover that praying the Rosary is more than simply saying a series of prayers. It is an invitation to slow down, be still and journey with Jesus through the key moments of His life. For our junior students, this might begin with the prayers of the Rosary and becoming familiar with the beads and their purpose. As students grow in their understanding, they will explore the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and Luminous Mysteries, reflecting on the life, death and Resurrection of Jesus and the role Mary played in God’s story of salvation.
As we begin this new term, may the Rosary remind us that faith is a journey.
Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
