Important Update – Change of Date for Annual School Sports
Dear Families,
After careful consideration and with the safety and enjoyment of our students as our top priority, we have made the decision to move our Annual School Athletic House Sports Day from Friday 8th August to Tuesday 5th August.
This decision comes in response to the forecast of adverse weather conditions on the original date. While we know how much everyone looks forward to this special day, we want to ensure that our students, staff, and families can fully enjoy the event in safe and comfortable conditions. It is a risk to move the event however we have made the call early as the oval can be prepared.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility — it’s never easy to shift plans, but we’re confident that Tuesday will offer a better experience for everyone involved. Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. We can’t wait to see our students giving their all on the track, cheered on by our amazing school community.
There will be a free coffee van for staff and adult visitors on the day thanks to Coffee to Di for. A BBQ lunch will also be provided for everyone.
Go JACKA & okay go Ansett!
May the best house win!
Commemorative Coins
Unfortunately if you were not in attendance over the schools 160th birthday you would have missed out. However there are a small number of coins available for purchase from the school office for $10. Any community members, past students and parents, friends of Wedderburn are able to purchase them.
Wedderburn College would sincerely like to thank our students for their professionalism and dedication as waitresses and waiters at the 160 Years of Education Celebration Dinner.
Their huge efforts were immensely appreciated by all in attendance.

The four students that were sponsored to attend Papua New Guinea in the school holidays to walk the Kokoda track will do a presentation to the whole school and community on Tuesday 12th August. This will occur as the feature item of our planned whole school assembly as per our whole school calendar, week 4 at 12:10 p.m. All interested family members, community members, sponsors are most welcome to attend.
Over the past few weeks despite the wet weather the new building project has started to take shape. The extremely large concrete slab was poured last Tuesday and the steel frames have started to be delivered on site as of Monday. This is obviously on top of the underground works and construction of the large retaining wall that has also occurred. We look forward to brining you more updates soon.
