End of Term Prayer

We thank you Lord, for this term.

For the challenges, the successes,

and the mistakes from which we have learnt.

Be with us as we spend our time with family and friends.

Give us strength and courage to do what is right:

to be witnesses of our faith.

Help us to see the face of Christ in others these holidays,

to appreciate what others do for us,

to give time and effort to help others.

To be peacemakers in our family.

Keep us safe in our activities;

give us good rest and good fun.

Bring us back refreshed and ready for a new term.

We thank you for our classmates, teachers, parents

And a community that cares for us.

May we always be conscious of you in our lives. Amen

Guide to understanding your child's report

TTFM Thank You

Thank you to the many parents who recently completed the ‘Tell Them From Me’ survey. We look forward to seeing the data generated from this survey in order to provide the best possible Catholic education for your child and to better support you as the primary educators of your children. As always, please feel free to contact your child’s class teacher, Mrs Iorfino or myself if there is anything that we can do to support you or your child.

P/T/S Conferences

It was wonderful to see so many parents arriving for their Parent/Teacher/Student conferences and speaking so positively about their child’s progress, so realistically about their child’s challenges and so warmly about their child’s teacher. I certainly welcome your feedback regarding any aspect of the P/T/S conferences.

Parents and teachers are both vital and critical to the wellbeing and development of our children and we must always work together to make the most of children’s learning and to nurture their talents.

Our teachers spend the ‘9 to 3’ part of the day with the children, facilitating their learning. Countless hours aside from this time are then spent each day correcting and assessing the student’s work planning lessons, preparing resources, meeting with support teachers to discuss children’s needs, professional development to continually improve the quality of their teaching, regular meetings with parents to discuss children’s progress, staff meetings, organising excursion opportunities, carnivals and many, many more while, at the same time, juggling their own family lives and finding time for reflection and self renewal.

My appreciation and thanks to you as parents for your valuable role as the primary educators of your child and to the teachers, a dedicated team of professionals who give so generously of their self, skills and time. Improving the learning outcomes for all children at STA is our core business. The children are our first priority. This is a great Catholic school that has helped produce not just well educated young adults, but compassionate people who, because of their faith, confidently embrace a future with hope and joy. I hope that you are as proud to be a part of this community as I am.

Eisteddfod Performances

Our students got into character and brought us passion, heart, and stellar performances during the Eisteddfod assembly in week 8. A huge thanks to Mrs McInness and Miss Jade for preparing and choreographing the students! Your dedication and hard work truly made a difference!

Farewell Celebration for Mrs Sue Stivala

Today, the St Anthony’s community came together to celebrate and honour the remarkable career of Mrs Sue Stivala. With deep gratitude and warmest wishes, we bid farewell to a truly cherished member of our school family. Since joining St Anthony’s in 2009, Sue has been a beacon of compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment.

Her presence has been a guiding light—offering strength, wisdom, and a steadfast example of the values of love and service we hold dear. Through her tireless efforts and genuine care, Sue touched countless lives and helped shape the spirit of our school community.

As Sue concludes her time at St Anthony’s at the end of this term, we expressed our heartfelt thanks for all she has given. Her contributions were remembered with admiration and deep appreciation during the celebration.

The farewell gathering was a heartfelt celebration, where staff, students, and families came together to honour Sue’s legacy. The afternoon was filled with warmth, shared memories, laughter, and touching farewells—a beautiful tribute to a truly cherished presence in our community.

We wish Sue every happiness and blessing as she embarks on the next chapter of her journey. May it be filled with peace, joy, and the same boundless love she so generously shared with us all.

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You 🌟

At St Anthony’s, we are always grateful to receive feedback from our families, and it is especially touching when a parent takes the time to share their appreciation as they prepare to leave our school community. We recently received this beautiful letter from the Giuffrida family, whose daughter Juliette will be relocating to Melbourne at the end of Term 3. With their permission, we are pleased to share their kind words with you:

Dear Ms Novak,

After spending nearly two wonderful years in Sydney, our family has made the difficult decision to relocate back to Melbourne at the start of Term 4 this year. As such, we would like to formally notify you that Juliette will complete her time at St Anthony’s at the end of Term 3 and begin Term 4 at Melbourne Girls Grammar, 2025.

This has been an incredibly hard decision for us, as Juliette has absolutely thrived at St Anthony’s. Enrolling her at your school has truly been one of the best decisions we’ve made as a family. St Anthony’s is such a special place, a nurturing, inspiring environment where children can grow, learn, and flourish. Juliette has blossomed in every way, thanks to the warm culture and sense of community you’ve cultivated.

We would especially like to thank her wonderful teachers, in particular Ms Langlands, whom Juliette adores. Her kindness, dedication, and genuine care have had such a meaningful impact on Juliette and on us as a family. We’re also extremely grateful for the support and encouragement from all the staff at the school. Juliette’s recent school report clearly reflects the progress she’s made, both academically and personally.

Please also pass on our sincere thanks to the Performing Arts teacher, Ms McInness. A special highlight has been watching Juliette’s love for dance blossom through her participation in the Eisteddfod competition, a moment she will always treasure.

We’re also very grateful for the many opportunities Juliette has had to build her confidence through recognition such as Student of the Week, merit awards, and Principal’s Awards. These acknowledgments have meant a great deal to her and to us.

On behalf of our entire family, thank you for everything St Anthony’s has given Juliette. She will return to Melbourne as a confident, enthusiastic learner who truly loves school—a testament to the incredible foundation she has received in your care. We are deeply grateful.

Warm regards, Teresa & Julian Giuffrida

We thank the Giuffrida family for their kind words and wish Juliette every success and happiness in her next chapter. She will always be part of the St Anthony’s family.

Yours in Partnership

Anna Novak
