Principal's Message

Respect, Responsibility and Teamwork.

Always Being Your Best.

Hello Families,

Over the past few weeks, we have had a very busy and exciting time at school with many wonderful events and opportunities for our students and families.

We recently held our Foundation 2027 tours and Information Evening, and it was lovely to welcome prospective families into our school community and showcase the great learning opportunities available at our school.

Our District Cross Country event was another highlight, with students demonstrating excellent sportsmanship, perseverance, and school pride. We are very proud of all students who participated.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day was a huge success, with a fantastic turnout from families and community members. We would like to sincerely thank all grandparents and special friends who attended and helped make the day so memorable for our students. It was wonderful to see our classrooms and learning spaces filled with smiles, conversations, and shared experiences.

Our recent Book Fair was also extremely successful. Thank you to all families for your support. Funds raised from the Book Fair will go towards purchasing new books and resources for our students to enjoy.

Kangaroo Flat PS supported the Kangaroo Flat Community Family Fun Day last Sunday.

Many thanks to City of Greater Bendigo and Kangaroo Flat Community Enterprise.

Whilst the weather was cool, it was still well supported by families, staff and the community.

We have recently introduced a new assembly awards structure. Each fortnight, every classroom will be presented with one learning award and one wellbeing award linked to our School Matrix expectations. Alternate assemblies will also include class presentations and celebrations of learning, giving students additional opportunities to share and celebrate their achievements.

Next week, our Grade 6 students will travel to Melbourne for an excursion to Parliament House and the Immigration Museum. This will be a valuable learning experience connected to their studies, and we hope they have a fantastic day.

A reminder to families that next Friday is a pupil-free day, with all staff participating in offsite professional learning. Unfortunately, CAMP Australia OSHC is not operating that day and unable to provide childcare.

The following Monday is the King’s Birthday public holiday.

Finally, as we continue to experience cold mornings and warmer days, students are often removing jumpers throughout the day. We kindly ask families to ensure all clothing items, particularly jumpers, are clearly labelled with your child’s name, as we have had many unnamed items handed into lost property.

Warm Regards,

Melissa Cusack

Acting Principal
