Principal's Message

Dear Kismet Park Community,

As we wrap up another term, I want to extend a warm congratulations to all our students for their hard work and achievements. A special acknowledgment goes to our Preps who have completed their very first term! They should be incredibly proud of their efforts and the great start they've made at school.

Your ongoing support and participation continue to make all the difference in enriching our school environment, and it is inspiring to see our entire student body come together to support one another and excel in various areas.

School Council

This Monday night, we held our 2025 Annual General Meeting followed by our first school council meeting with new members. Please join me in welcoming Ryan Underwood and Sarah Isherwood to our school council. Your participation and input are invaluable to our school’s continued success. Additionally, I'm pleased to announce our office bearers for the year. Sean Bassett remains our School Council President, and we welcome Eddie Starcic as the new Vice President, succeeding Damian Hodor. Alex Elliot will continue her work as Treasurer.

NAPLAN Success

Congratulations to all our students who participated in NAPLAN. We achieved a fantastic 94% completion rate, showcasing the hard work and dedication of our students. Well done to everyone involved for their perseverance and focus during this period.

Harmony Day Celebrations

Our Harmony Day event on Friday, 21st March, was a vibrant celebration of diversity and inclusiveness. Thank you to everyone—students, teachers, and parents—for your wonderful effort and for dressing up to express our community’s rich cultural tapestry. It was truly heartwarming to see such enthusiasm and unity.

House Cross Country

This year's House Cross Country on Monday, 24th March, was a spirited event, filled with energy and sportsmanship. Congratulations to Hogan House for leading with 652 points, followed closely by McEwen with 608, Clarke with 581, and Lambert with 565. A special thanks to all participants and the incredible turnout from our parents and carers who cheered from the sidelines.

Facilities Update

We are excited to announce that new grass turf will soon enhance our school grounds. Installation will begin next week, adjacent to the basketball courts. Please note that this area will be surrounded by temporary fencing for approximately three months to allow the turf to establish. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this time.

Curriculum Days Approved

The school council has approved this year's curriculum days. They are scheduled for the following dates:

  • Term 2, Week 7, Tuesday, 3rd June

  • Melbourne Cup Weekend, Monday, 3rd November

  • Last day of the year, Friday, 19th December

Please mark these dates in your calendar. The curriculum days are crucial for our staff to plan and engage in professional development activities that directly benefit our students.

End of Term Arrangements

Our last day of Term 1 will be Friday, 4th April, with an early dismissal at 2:30 pm. We’ll be celebrating with our Easter Hat Parade at 9:15am followed by our school assembly, where we will also draw the PCA Raffle and our Whole School Raffle. A huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes and purchased tickets.

Term 2 First Day

Please note that the first day back for Term 2 will be Tuesday, 21st April, as Monday is Easter Monday. We look forward to seeing all our students refreshed and ready for another term of learning and growth.

Enjoy a safe and joyful holiday break!

Warm regards,

Sam Carlton
