Introducing 

Mr Peter Buxton

Dear Parents,

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Peter Buxton and I have been the High School Principal at De La Salle Catholic College Caringbah for the last 9 years. This term while continuing my duties at De La Salle, I am also standing in as Principal here at OLF while Mrs Clay is on long service leave.

I very much enjoyed week 1, meeting staff, students and some parents at OLF. I am extremely impressed with the culture of learning, the calmness of the school and the very obvious ways in which the school excels. While I am not a primary school teacher, I take my hat off to the dedicated staff who care for and teach these children every day. 

My intention this term (while at the primary school), is to see learning in action. I’ll be visiting classes each day and chatting with staff, students and parents about learning goals and aspirations. I’m keen to see what students are capable of achieving both academically and outside of the classroom. I know that the best learning takes place in a well structured environment that allows curious minds to grow. Teachers need to be listened to by students always, with an expectation that instructions are followed and that everyone contributes in a positive, respectful, and constructive way.
