Dear Parents,

Welcome back to Term 3. This term is going to be very busy. I hope everyone had a relaxing holiday and had the opportunity to recharge. The mornings have been really cold this week. This is a timely reminder to ensure children have jumpers and jackets for school each day. Please check that all items of school clothing are clearly labelled with your child's name.

We are very excited about the upcoming School Concert which will be performed at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on Thursday 6th August. We are busy finalising our performances. More information from your child's teachers will be sent home in the next few days about specific requirements for each item. A note giving permission to attend the rehearsal day, concert day and some general information will be pushed out through Sentral tomorrow.

A few concert reminders;

  • Tickets are on sale through the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC). There are still tickets available for both the matinee and evening performances.
  • A costume levy of $15 per student to cover the costs of costuming, props and other material required for children to perform at the School Concert has been published through the Sentral Parent Portal. We ask parents to pay this levy as soon as possible so that materials and costumes can be finalised.

Commonwealth Games Day - Our 'Be Skilled, Be Fit' Commonwealth Games Day is being held next Friday 31st July on the school grounds. All children have been allocated a country that they will represent. Classroom Teachers will give this information to children. Children are encouraged to wear their country's colours on the day. The cost of the day has been paid for from the money raised during the Easter Hat Parade earlier this year. Parents are still required to give permission for children to participate in this activity. It will be a wonderful day of activity and fun whilst also learning more about the Commonwealth Games. Parents are welcome to come along and support us on the day. An overview of the day is below:

9.10 – 9.40 – Opening Ceremony – Infants and Primary

Children will assemble in country groups in the top playground.

9.40 – 11.00 – Infants and Primary Events Combined

11.00 – 11.30 – Recess

11.30 – 12.00 – Closing Ceremony – Infants and Primary

Term 2 Attendance

Although our attendance rate has fallen below our target of 92% for Term 2, our data shows that we are consistently tracking above DoE State averages and similar schools.

We are pleased to celebrate our continued low unexplained absence rate of just 9%. Thank you to our parents and carers for taking the time to explain absences through the portal or by contacting the office.
