Welcome Back to Term 4

Welcome back to the final term of the school year. I hope all families had a restful and enjoyable break.  We look forward to an exciting and busy term ahead.

A reminder that our Holy Rosary Day celebrations will take place tomorrow. This year is particularly special as we celebrate 110 years of Catholic education in Kensington.

For details regarding dress-up guidelines for the day, please refer to the previous communications sent via email in the last week of term and in newsletters. We look forward to a fantastic day of celebration together.

Holy Rosary Day

Holy Rosary Day will be celebrated in our parish this Sunday. Mass will be at 10:30am in Holy Rosary Church and there will be shared food provided by the parish immediately after. We encourage families to attend to celebrate our school and parish.

Child Safe Standard 9

Child Safe Standard 9 focuses on ensuring that physical and online environments promote safety and wellbeing while minimising the opportunity for children to be harmed. At Holy Rosary, this requires staff to proactively manage supervision across all physical spaces including classrooms,  school playground, camps, and excursions and to eliminate hidden hazards. This is why staff are actively on duty before and after school, as well as during lunch breaks.

Active supervision also extends seamlessly to our digital environments. We educate students, staff, and families about online safety, cyberbullying, and grooming while maintaining secure digital networks and clear acceptable use policies, supported by our implementation of the Inform and Empower program. Furthermore, by embedding proactive risk assessments, maintaining a Child Safety Risk Register, and setting strict compliance standards for third-party contractors, we ensure our school remains a safe, inclusive space. Above all, we empower our students to speak up, ensuring they know they can always reach out to their teacher or a member of the Child Safety and Wellbeing Team whenever they need support. The poster advising of team members can be found around the school, including the office noticeboard and on our website.

Student Free Days Term 4

Please be reminded that we have scheduled our Student Free Day for Friday 30 October. This is a day for staff to engage in professional learning in Religious Education.  School will also be closed on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2 Nov for Melbourne Cup. This provides a final break for students before embarking on the final weeks of the school year.

Leaving HR?

Our plans are well underway for the 2027 year! We kindly ask families to let us know if your child will not be returning to HR next year. Having this information helps us with class planning, staffing, and welcoming new families into our community. Please notify the school office as soon as possible if you are moving on.

Here's to a wonderful term of learning and friendship,
