As we celebrate Father's Day, we are reminded of the important role that relationships, connection, and community play in the development of confident, capable girls. A strong sense of belonging is not simply about feeling included. It is the foundation upon which girls build self-belief, take positive risks, learn that mistakes are a part of developing, and embrace new opportunities.

Whether cheering from the sidelines, sharing in a learning journey, acknowledging the mistakes and challenges that are part of life, or simply being present in everyday moments, these relationships send a powerful message to girls that they are valued, capable, and worthy of success.

One of the privileges of working in a school is witnessing these relationships in action. Each morning, as I stand at the gate welcoming the girls, I regularly see proud fathers walking alongside their daughters, sharing conversations and helping them prepare for the day ahead. These seemingly small moments speak volumes about the connection, care, and encouragement that underpin a girl's growth and wellbeing.

This week, many fathers joined us for our Father's Day Breakfast, it was wonderful to see fathers and daughters sharing a special moment together, while our Open Morning today provided another opportunity for fathers, and other special people in the girls' lives, to engage alongside their daughters in a collaborative STEM challenge. These events strengthen the partnership between home and school, celebrate the important role that families play in education, and reinforce the sense of belonging that is so important for every girl.

As we celebrate Father's Day, we also acknowledge that families come in many forms and recognise the many significant adults who support, guide, and encourage our girls. Together, these relationships help create a community where every student feels known, valued and supported.

So, to all fathers and father figures in our community, thank you for the role you play in the lives of our girls. We wish you a Happy Father's Day and hope the day brings much joy, connection, and treasured time with family.
