Holidays - A time to refresh
Wow! First term is nearly over. It has been a term filled with learning, laughter, and growth, and we are incredibly proud of the way our school community continues to support one another.
The holiday break is a wonderful opportunity for children to rest, recharge and reconnect with the things that make them happy and feel grounded. Below are some well-being focussed ideas families might enjoy over the next holiday break.
🌞 Enjoy the Outdoors
- Take a walk, ride a bike, or explore a local park or nature trail.
- Try a “noticing walk”: look for five things you can see, four you can hear, three you can touch, two you can smell, and one you can feel.
- Have a picnic in the backyard or at a favourite outdoor spot.
🎨 Get Creative
- Draw, paint, or build something using recycled materials.
- Start a holiday journal where children can write, sketch, or paste photos of their adventures.
- Try a family “creative hour” where everyone works on their own project.
📚 Moments at Home
- Read together—whether it’s a chapter book, a picture book, or even a recipe.
- Cook or bake something simple as a family.
- Have a board‑game or puzzle afternoon.
🤝 Connect With Others
- Arrange a playdate or visit a neighbour or family member.
- Write a letter or draw a picture for someone special.
- Do a small act of kindness each day—children love choosing their own.
🧘 Look After Mind and Body
- Try a short mindfulness activity, like deep breathing or stretching.
- Have a “screen‑free hour” each day to rest eyes and minds.
- Keep a gentle routine to help children feel settled and secure.

We hope the holidays bring your family plenty of rest, fun, and moments together. Thank you for your ongoing support throughout the term—our school is the wonderful place it is because of our students, families, and staff working together.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another exciting term ahead.
