TheirCare News

Hi parents, guardians, staff, and friends and welcome to our last week of Term 1!!

Where has the time gone?

Although this week is short, we are still having lots of fun at TheirCare. This week we have continued the Easter theme with lots of cool activities and crafts. Angie and the children have started to create and make Easter cards for the children’s family and friends which have been so nice to see. Easter colouring sheets this week have been very popular with new ones needing to be printed every session. On Thursday we are planning to have an Easter egg hunt with the children, which will be lots of fun and very competitive.

As previously mentioned, Ashleigh will be stepping down as co-coordinator of TheirCare to help focus on her final year of her Master of Primary Education. Ashleigh’s final act of co-coordinator will be assisting with the parents’ association BBQ on Wednesday which will be a lot of fun. Ashleigh will remain at Footscray West TheirCare as a permanent staff member most mornings and afternoons. We are very lucky to have Angie stepping into the co-coordinator role and look forward to all the great things she will achieve.

Holidays are fast approaching and so are our fun-filled three days of excursions. We ask that all parents please remember to pack nut-free lunches for their children and to remember hats as well as drink bottles. For excursion days children must be dropped off by a certain time so that educators can ensure that we do not run late for excursions and that each child understands the safety expectations when leaving the school. The dates and times for excursions are below:

  • Wednesday, 3 April - Movie Day - please drop off by 9:30am
  • Monday, 8 April - Inflatable World - please drop off by 8:30am
  • Wednesday, 10 April - Holey Moley, Point Cook - please drop off by 10:00am

We appreciate all parents’ co-operation and understanding of how stressful excursion days can be if children are not there by a certain time. Any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

This week’s Pupil of the Week is Coco Foster (4AF) for always giving activities a go and always having a positive mindset when attending TheirCare. Well, done Coco! You should be very proud! 😊😊

Lastly, we would like to wish all parents, guardians, staff, and friends a lovely Easter and a very big thank you for such a great first term of the year and we can’t wait for what the rest of the year holds.
