From the Principal

Hi everyone,

Firstly, thank you to everyone for the on time arrival at school over the past two weeks! Hopefully everyone has been able to access the Compass post with the breakdown of the morning routines. We will put the one page detailed explanation on our website for future reference. Our average late arrivals have fallen from an average of 42 students per day to 36 which is a great start for the first two weeks. We look forward to reporting another fall next newsletter.

Our 5/6 swimming program has now concluded and I would like to thank Mr Liston for organising the program, the teachers for the daily organisation and execution of the program and also to the 5/6 families for remembering to bring towels and bathers every day!

This week is Science week and Mr Anthony has opened up the STEM room to each year level for an after school activity session. The first two session have been very popular and I have no doubt the final session tomorrow will be too! The excitement continues next week with Book Week and the parade (and dress up day) on Thursday.

Finally, please take a moment to visit our Wellbeing page. This week, as part of National Week of Action Against Bullying and Violence, we have launched our whole-school definition of bullying, along with a flowchart to help students identify whether a situation may be bullying. These resources are designed to support a consistent approach across our school and will also be shared with students at Friday's assembly. I encourage all members of our community to become familiar with these resources so that, together, we can continue to provide a safe, respectful and supportive environment for every student at OGPS.
