English – Persuasive Writing

This term in English, we have been exploring the structure and language features of persuasive texts. Each morning, we begin our English lessons by expanding our vocabulary, helping us to create writing that is detailed, engaging and powerful. Throughout each lesson, we learn a new writing technique or language feature and practise applying it to strengthen our persuasive writing. Our text of the week provides opportunities for students to identify these techniques and explore how authors use them effectively. Through these activities, students are developing the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to create persuasive texts that are clear, convincing and engaging.

Maths – Angles, Area and Measurement

In Mathematics, we have been developing our understanding of angles, area, measurement and percentages. Students have been learning how to find unknown angles, convert between different units of measurement and calculate percentages. These skills have been applied to a range of real-world scenarios, allowing students to see how mathematical concepts can be used in everyday situations and further deepen their understanding.

HASS – Our Diverse and Changing World

In HASS, we have been developing our understanding of the diversity of our world and the ways in which countries and communities are changing. Students have been exploring the environmental, demographic and socio-economic factors that contribute to the diversity of different countries. They have also been comparing Australia with countries in Asia, identifying similarities and differences in areas such as geography, population, climate and living conditions. Through these comparisons, students are developing a greater appreciation of the diversity that exists within our region and across the world.
