This week was a big one on the Christian calendar with the Feast of St Francis of Assisi on the 4th of October and Our Lady of the Rosary on the 7th of October. The month of October is also the month of the Rosary!

Pope Leo has invited Catholics to pray the Rosary throughout the month of October for peace in the world and that is what we will be doing at St Anne’s! He stressed that prayer should lead to action, saying, “Prayers must always be accompanied by good deeds and acts of love.”

I encourage you to pray the rosary at home with your family. Start with a decade and see how you go! These websites are great for ideas, how to pray the rosary etc.

The saints loved the Rosary! St Padre Pio said - “The rosary is the weapon against the evils of the world today” and St Maximilian Kolbe said “Each bead is a step towards the Heart of Jesus through the heart of Mary.” Happy praying!
