Every Day Counts and So Does Arriving on Time!
At Greenhills Primary School, every school day offers opportunities to learn, build friendships and enjoy new experiences. We work with families to support regular attendance and help every child feel connected, confident and ready to learn.
Arriving at school on time is an important part of a successful day.
It gives children time to greet their friends, organise their belongings and settle into the classroom. Being there ready to learn at the start of the day also means they hear important instructions and take part in learning from the beginning. Even a few minutes late each day can add up to missed learning time.
To ensure that our Greenhills students start the school day on time and ready to learn, the music before school starts at 8.55am. This is the time students enter the classroom and set themselves up for success. Our 15 minutes of Student Agency time starts at 9am sharp so arriving after this time means it is not the ideal start.
A consistent morning routine, such as preparing school bags the night before and allowing enough time for the journey can help make mornings calmer and easier.
If your child is worried about friendships or schoolwork, or is finding it difficult to come to school, please speak with their classroom teacher, Janine or Brad. Working together early can help us understand their concerns and put support in place.
We also recognise that families juggle many demands when getting children to school. If your child will be absent or late, please notify the school as soon as possible.
Thank you for working with us to give your child the best possible start to each school day.

Every day counts. Being on time helps make every day a great day for learning!
